PASSENGER INFORMATION:
ADULT DOGS:
Tips on how to handle flight risk dogs & what to do if a dog gets away!  Please clip a regular leash to their harness & use a slip lead threading it through the hoops on the harness for added protection. Please be careful when handling them.  When possible, crate them in the car.  BTW, it is always good to have a pop-lid can of Vienna sausages or smelly cheap canned cat food.  Maybe even O' Roy which we would never normally feed a dog but smells great to a scared dog & can be used to lure a dog back.  Please remember to NEVER chase the dog if a dog gets away.  If the group can not catch the dog right away, call the monitor AND local animal control.  You will be advised further from there.

PUPPIES:
Parvo Prevention:  ALWAYS clean your crates with bleach before using them!!!!  Please make sure you have bleached out any crates you use.  Please bleach any hard surfaces in your vehicle pups/dogs may have touched.  Please do NOT let any pup under 6 months no matter what their size touch the ground.  Please always wear medical gloves.  And please bring lots of towels & newspapers with you.  You can use the newspaper to line the ground if you have a pen to put the pups in.  You can use a towel ALONG WITH your medical gloves to pick up pups and carry or move them.  If you wrap them in a towel when you do that, you don't have to worry as much about contaminating your clothes.  Be sure to change towels between litters just like you should change your gloves.  The towel should not substitute for the gloves.  If you are using a soft sided crate, it too MUST be bleached between transports as well.  Soft sided crates are not always the best with puppies but if being used, must be bleached.  Please also drape a towel or sheet over puppy crates when you have loaded a litter of pups & BEFORE loading the next litter so that a protective barrier is created to help prevent the spread of parvo, kennel cough, etc.  See the attached "Transport Guidelines" when you receive the final for more information.

********************  DISCLAIMER  ********************
I am dependent on what the senders tell me about our passengers' temperaments. The very nature of rescue transport creates some risk for those who participate; even a good-natured animal may find it stressful to be passed from stranger to stranger and cooped up with other unfamiliar animals, and therefore may act in uncharacteristic ways.
As a Volunteer Transport Coordinator neither I nor anyone associated with this transport can accept liability for any accidents or incidents that may occur during the transport.
By agreeing to transport you acknowledge that risks are involved and agree not hold anyone involved responsible should an incident occur. All rescues have been screened and approved. Please note that passengers may change, and that passenger descriptions are from the sending contacts and may be subject to change. We do our best to ensure that all animals are healthy and of sound temperament, but please keep in mind that transport is stressful and can cause previously unknown health/behavior problems to surface.
